There it is again, out of the corner of your eye; rolling along in bumper to bumper traffic. The white letters with a deep blue background are easy to read from just about anywhere, but this is the third one you've seen since leaving the house. The late model Lexus SUV just ahead and to your left seems to boldly display, that familiar bumper sticker with the words, "Wise men still seek Him." Those same words caught your attention from several cards within Hallmark. Of course, these are plays on the words from Matthew 2:1.
"Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him."
The idea being this: if you consider yourself a wise man, then you will be one who is a seeker of Him.
Like so many of us well-meaning and caring individuals, we intervene during apparent times of difficulty and struggle, and deprive our loved ones of necessary personal development. Muscle development demands struggle. When that cute little child says,”No, I can do it myself”, It’s a good thing. An intervention of the struggling butterfly to break out of it’s cocoon will risk the flight of underdeveloped wings in this very act of nature.
The value of working through struggle is the reward of needed strength and personal experience to draw from later.
Help us purchase some used iPads to help our seniors with reading. Everyone knows that age causes our eyes to grow dim and make it difficult to read. Poor lighting and small print make it a difficult exercise even to read our bibles. I can attest to this personnally. Since buying a used iPad off Craigslist I have found great pleasure in the morning reading through my yearly plan with my lighted screen and larger fonts on my iPad.
Maybe you can help us obtain iPads for our senior members to assist in their greatly loved bible reading.
