Water
We must be water-baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. Jesus told Nicodemus that a man cannot enter the kingdom of God, except he be born of water and of the Spirit (John 3:5)

Spirit
We are promised the gift of His Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. Encountering disciples of John at Ephesus and having them re-baptized in Jesus’ name was not sufficient for Paul. He then laid his hands on them and they received the Holy Ghost (Acts 19:7), once again confirming Peter’s day of Pentecost words, ‘ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” (Acts 2:38).
